Associated Technical College-San Diego was founded in 1984 as a branch of Associated Technical College- Los Angeles. The College was granted "Free-Standing" status in July 1988 by the Accrediting Commission for Trade and Technical Schools, currently known as "Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges". The parent school was founded in 1967 in Hollywood, California, as Career Academy. It was acquired by the National Institute of Arts and Science in 1969 and by Associated Technical Colleges of California in 1973. It was purchased by and became a division of Diversified Education Company on January, 1, 1975.

We design our programs to put you into the job market as quickly as possible. Class hours are flexible, with Morning and Afternoon classes, so you can keep your job while you train. Our commitment is to provide you with hands-on, practical (learn-by-doing) training in well-paying career fields, where there is a demand for qualified, entry -level employees. Our experienced instructional staff constantly updates and broadens program content and learning methods to prepare you for the changing needs of today's real world job market.

We provide hands-on, practical (learn-by-doing), training in fields where there is a demand for qualified entry-level employees. Flexible morning, afternoon and evening schedules allow students to finish their training even if employed before graduation.

Associated Technical College-San Diego has approval to operate by the State of California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (www.bppe.com) and it’s located in the Heart of Downtown San Diego on the Crossroads of 7th Avenue and Broadway.
Associated Technical College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
Placement assistance is provided by the Placement Office including workshops covering Interviewing Skills, Resume and Application preparation, and Job Research. Our Placement Office maintains contracts with a variety of companies. Job opening are posted and the Placement Officer will assist you in applying for jobs that fit your qualifications.
Our Financial Aid Office helps each student in finding ways to finance their education. To Apply for type of programs available, each student must meet with an Financial Aid Officer.
